To make a claim for damage, loss or missing content, you need to provide documentation. The documents required are the following:
- The commercial invoice (purchase/sale) of the transported goods.
- The purchase receipt.
- eBay/PayPal transaction receipt.
The invoice is important because it’s the most concrete proof of the value of the goods. The invoice must include the following:
- It will always need to reflect details consistent with the sender and/or recipient, showing that the goods are property of one of the parties involved in the shipment. (Except for in the case of purchase/cashier receipts).
- Date of issue (the same as or earlier than the delivery/purchase date).
- The invoice number.
- Detailed description of the items.
- The seller’s Tax Identification Number, tax information and address.
- Breakdown of taxes.
The proof of value is an essential document to be able to submit a claim for damage, loss or missing content.
In cases where there is no invoice, or if the invoice date is older than 60 days, a devaluation will be applied.
