Shipping labels are mandatory for services that don't offer a labless option (e.g. QR code).
Below, we explain how to identify if a service requires the printing and attaching of a label to the parcel during the purchase process. You can identify these services by the following indicators:
Printer required
For these services, it is mandatory to print and attach the shipping label to the box or envelope.
- You can print the label on adhesive paper or regular paper. The important thing is that the label is properly attached to the parcel.
- Do not cover the barcode on the label with adhesive tape, as this may make it difficult to scan.
Important
If the goods travel unidentified, the following issues may occur: failed collection (if the service includes it), loss of tracking, shipping cost charged to the recipient, errors in delivery address details, return to sender of the goods.
No printer required
For these services, the carrier will take care of labelling the parcel according to the shipping method you have purchased:
- The delivery person will attach the label at collection, or the parcel will be labelled upon arrival at the carrier’s facilities.
-
Label scan. When depositing the goods at an office, ParcelShop or locker, the sender must show the shipping label barcode or a QR code from their mobile device. In these cases, labelling will be carried out as follows:
- At offices and ParcelShops: the staff in charge will print and attach the label to the parcel.
- At lockers: the sender can print and attach the label to the parcel at the time of deposit, provided the locker has a printer. Otherwise, the sender may deposit the parcel without a label and it will be labelled upon arrival at the transport company's logistics centre.
The shipping label can be downloaded as a PDF from the service confirmation email sent by Packlink after purchasing the shipment.
